Welcome to “The Winter Before.” and the debut of Max, a happy go-lucky ten year old living the most carefree of lives that he can. Joining him on today’s adventure is Kenzie, his best friend since forever, and an all-around much more organised person.

Set in the Malverns in the winter of 1984, where nothing really happens they set out, determined to make thier own fun and enjoy the last day of school before the Christmas holidays.

Follow them as they laugh, live, dream and torment each other (And everyone around them it seems.) When they embark on the most adult of tasks; To go up town on their own and buy presents. One has the day all planned out, one will be lucky to remember all his clothes. But both have a feeling that today will be a special day.

What could possibly go wrong? As it turns out for these two, everything and nothing, depending on which one you believe.

SPOILERS: They do wind-up, tease and otherwise annoy each other at the drop of a hat, they even try and keep score. They will also be oblivious to the fact that the worst snowstorm in years is predicted to hit their little hamlet today. And not one single mince pie will survive intact.
